With a view to check the door step delivery services of citizen services through 1076 number launched by the Punjab Government, Deputy Commissioner Amit Kumar Panchal today made direct video calls to applicants and interacted with them regarding the process.
In a random call, Deputy Commissioner Amit Kumar Panchal personally spoke with two applicants namely Lakhwinder Singh and Pratima Kaur, who expressed immense satisfaction over the process besides thanking the State Government’s unique initiative to provide requisite citizen services at doorsteps. On being asked about the service, Lakhwinder Singh apprised the Deputy Commissioner that he rang up on 1076 number for getting birth certificate a few days back and the Sewa Sahayak had delivered the applied document after completing the entire process. It was a hassle-free, time-bound and smooth process to get the service, said Lakhwinder.
Another applicant Pratima, who applied for social security pension also said that she made a call on Punjab Government’s given number and sewa sahayak done all the formalities and put the case in process.
Meanwhile, the three other applicants Suresh Kumar Dutta, Komal Kumar and Rajinder Kaur, who recently applied for different citizen services and got the services at doorsteps also appreciated this endeavor of Punjab Government. Dutta resident of local Model Town stated that he applied for translation of birth certificates through Sewa Sahayak and got the documents within a couple of days by sitting home. Rajinder Kaur said she just rang up Sewa Sahayak at 1076 after that he took all relevant documents and completed the process within two-three days.
Deputy Commissioner also made a fervent appeal to the people to dial 1076 to get as many as 43 services by making a single call. He said that the sewa sahayaks and the officials of Governance Reforms Department were providing the required services in the district within given time frame as the daily monitoring of these applications were being done at the level of nodal officer. He also directed the officials concerned to check the pendency of these applications to get these done at the right earnest.
The Deputy Commissioner also pointed out that the District Administration would hold ‘Sarkar Tuhade Dwar’ camps from February 6, where the officials of various departments would remain present at camp sites to provide the requisite services to people on the spot.
