Punjab Education Department promotes 44 principals as DEO’s, 13 made Assistant Directors

Chandigarh, January 25

Taking yet another historic and pro-employees decision under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, Punjab Education department have promoted 44 principals as District Education Officers (DEOs), while 13 principals have been elevated to the position of Assistant Director in the School Education Department in the state.

This significant move comes during the Departmental Promotion Committee meeting, led by K.K. Yadav, Secretary of the School Education Department, held after a decade.

The Department’s spokesperson disclosed that, following the directives of the School Education Minister, Harjot Singh Bains, to expedite the promotion process, the Department Promotion Committee has initiated promotions for Principals, DEOs, and Assistant Directors.

The spokesperson said that the names approved for promotion by the Departmental Promotion Committee have been verified by the School Education Minister, Harjot Singh Bains. The Cabinet Minister further ordered the department officers to accelerate the promotion process for eligible employees across all departmental levels.
