As many as, the police have been booked 5 persons including Nambardar, in a case registered on drowning of 10 year old boy in pond of village Haji Chhinba. The family members have alleged that despite bringing to the notice of authorities to shift the pond to Panchayat land constructed in 1994 at the time of development of the village but no action was action.
According to the complainant Jagdish Sahota, father of the deceased and resident of Haji Chhinba village, said his son was playing in front of his hose with his friends. Since there was no boundary wall around the pond, my son fell into the pond. Though the villagers tried to rescue him, but his life could not be saved. He had requested a number of times to the Panchayat and revenue officials to shift the pond to panchayat land but no action was taken, due to which my son died.
The police have booked Pardeep, his father Jagir Singh, Gurnam Singh Nambardar, former Sarpanch eero and Sarpanch Dimple under Section 304 of the IPC, for the death of Vishu by drowing in the pond. The police have also nominated the Panchayat and BDPO in this case. ASI Binder Singh said, the case has been registered and action will be taken as per the findings of the inquiry.
