AAP Punjab slams BJP government for rejecting Punjab’s tableau

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Punjab slammed the BJP-led center government for rejecting Punjab’s tableau for the Republic Day parade.

AAP Punjab leaders said that the tableau showcased the life and history of Punjab’s martyrs who laid their lives for our country and our freedom but the power-mad BJP is saffronising and politicising everything and now they rejected our tableau.

Senior AAP leader and Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema said, “BJP is doing step-motherly behavior with Punjab. We prepared the tableau showcasing the life and history of Punjab’s martyrs who gave their lives for Independence, but the Central government rejected it.” Cheema added that BJP’a rejection of Punjab’s tableau means they don’t value the sacrifices of our freedom fighters.

Punjab Cabinet Minister Anmol Gagan Maan on her X account wrote, “Disheartened to witness the exclusion of Punjab’s tableau from the Republic Day parade. Are we erasing the rich tapestry of our diverse history? This decision deserves scrutiny. Is it now a parade of select narratives, leaving the sacrifices of our heroes in the shadows?”

Harjot Singh Bains slamming the BJP government said, “Out of 121 freedom fighters who courted gallows, 93 were Sikhs/Punjabi’s. Similarly, out of 2,646 freedom fighters sentenced to life imprisonment, no less than 2,147 were again Punjabi’s. But Punjab is again excluded from the 26th Jan Republic Day parade consecutively for the 2nd year.”
