Mohali administration allots 44 Temporary Firecracker Licenses by Draw of Lots

District Administration allotted 44 provisional licenses for sale of firecrackers in Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar district by draw of lots on Thursday.

Divulging the details, the Deputy Commissioner Aashika Jain said that a total of 1868 applications were received,out of which 1839 were found eligible to participate in the draw of lots. She said that for Mohali 14 licenses have been awarded against the total applications received in 1550. Similarly, for Banur 25 applications were received and 4 licenses granted. In Nayagan, 10 applications were received against 01 license.

In Kharar, 3 licenses are allocated against 13 applications while in Lalru 4 licenses issued against 41 applicants. In Kurali

4 licenses were declared against 9 applications received. In Zirakpur

8 licenses were granted against the number of 40 applications. In Derabassi 6 licenses were awarded against 151 applications.

The draw was conducted amid videography in the presence of Additional Deputy Commissioner (General), Viraj S Tidke, SDM Mohali Chandrajyoti Singh and other officials (Committe Members) and general public and applicants to adopt a transparent and fair approach, she added.
