Mohali: NGOs organize Cancer Awareness Talk for women

NGOs, which included, ‘Sahayta Cancer Awareness Trust’ , ‘Maitri Club’ and ‘ Samvedana ‘ jointly arranged an awareness talk on cancer for the Women in Kajheri, today.

As many as 35 Women and 28 students attended the session. Team Sahayta conducted the session which was well received by the participants.

Renu Sehgal president of Sahayta Trust explained the types and symptoms of cancers and how to detect the disease. Madhu Nagpal Vice president, of “Sahayta ” explained in detail the symptoms and self-checkout for breast cancer.

Suman Gupta volunteer Sahayta explained to the women a need to take care of their health, aspirations, and emotional health. Prajakta Avhad, President Samvedana talked about networking with other NGOs and the need to come together for women’s issues.

Prominent personalities include Pushp Cheema, former principal of Saint John’s school, Sharda Kaushik, former director of Regional Institute of English, Gurveen and Mona from Maitri club.

Aruti Nayar, Suman Sharma, and Poonam Wadhwa from Samvedana were present on the occasion.
