The Sakhi One-Stop Centre is one of the initiatives of the Punjab Government, led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, for the welfare of women and girls.
Under the guidance of Dr. Baljit Kaur, Minister of Social Security, Women and Child Development, the department is dedicated to empowering women in the state and safeguarding them from all forms of violence.
In line with this commitment, a workshop was organized in collaboration with UN Women and S.A.D.R.A.G at Punjab Bhawan.
The One-Stop Centre represents a vital initiative in the state, offering support and free services to women affected by gender-based violence. The department has developed the One-Stop Centre as a model within the state, promoting collaboration with women.
During the workshop, Madhvi Kataria, Director of the Social Security, Women, and Child Development Department, highlighted that UN Women has demonstrated strong dedication in training employees, operators of one-stop centers, and related service providers in 22 districts of Punjab over the past year. A total of 565 officers have received training.
