Mobile phones usage continued unabated in Ferozepur Central jail, 4 mobiles unearthed during the search operations. The jail staff has not been able to plug the smuggling in of mobiles inside the jail premises while the inmates have adopted new tech to flush out or damage it trace the calling details. During the recent search operations carried out by the jail staff, recovered four mobiles from the inmates including one from a gangster from Himachal Pradesh lodged in the jail at Ferozepur.

With the frequent recovery of mobiles from the jail inmates or unclaimed, the purpose of keeping them away from worldly affairs as punishment is lost. Some more stringent measures have to be taken to curb this menace.

In the search operation carried out by Sarbjit Singh, Assistant Superintendent, in the old barrack, three mobiles were recovered, one mobile each, was recovered from under trial prisoner Rupinder Singh, Anubhav with battery and SIM card while one from Rajesh Kumar in a broken condition with one data cable. In another check by Jasvir Singh, Assistant Superintendent, on getting the secret input one mobile was recovered from gangster prisoner Rajiv Kaushal with battery and SIM Card.

Earlier also, two mobiles, one with broken screen were recovered with 02.10 gm while colour intoxicant powder during the search of barrack number 3 of block number lying as unclaimed, which perhaps have been thrown after its usages.

Meanwhile, the cases have been registered and further investigations are on with the concerned Inquiry Officers.
