Punjab Congress chief Amarinder Singh Raja Warring today, on the auspicious occasion of Krishna Janmashtami, kick started the ‘Charcha Punjab Di’ campaign to connect with party cadre and workers in all the 117 constituencies across the state.
While giving details about the campaign, Warring said that ‘Charcha Punjab Di’ campaign was meticulously designed to provide a platform to all the party workers and leaders, to speak their minds and share their views on the issues being faced by them and other serious issues that concerns the people of the state. The platform would provide an opportunity to those workers and leaders who had been dedicatedly strengthening the party at the grassroot level in villages in various constituencies, added he.
“The ‘Charcha Punjab Di’ campaign is a platform for those who are concerned about preserving Punjab, Punjabiyat and Punjabis. We wanted to connect with the party workers and wanted them to come together and discuss the challenges, issues and concerns of the state, says Warring. He added that the campaign would be a great opportunity for the leadership to get feedbacks from the people and address their concerns.
The state chief said that the campaign was a step towards rebuilding the Congress in Punjab and making it a force to reckon with again. He also mentioned that under the campaign, public meetings would be held to understand the public view. Punjab Congress chief said that he would also hold one-on-one discussions with party workers and frontals in each constituency to understand their concerns, take their feedback into account to strengthen the party and formulate the policies accordingly ahead of the Lok Sabha elections.
Warring said that Charcha Punjab Di was a major initiative by the Congress to reach out to the local residents, party cadre and workers in all 117 constituencies in Punjab and connect with them on a personal level. Stressing on the importance of one-on-one interaction, Warring said that paying heed to ‘Jann Ki Baat’ was more important than monologues like ‘Mann ki Baat’ to understand the cadre and voters’ concerns better. He said that apart from the leadership, the workers, party cadre and volunteers, were the real strength of the party who religiously believe in the party ideology and devotedly work to strengthen the party.
Emphasising on the conversation, suggestions and feedbacks, Waring said, that for him monologues were sheer wastage of time and effort. There should always be a two-way conversation so that we can understand and address the concerns in a better way. This campaign, is therefore, has been designed to connect with our heroes to strengthen the party in the state and create a better environment for party leaders to work in. It was high time to strengthen the leadership at the constituency level so that we could be more effective in fighting for the rights of the people and for the betterment and prosperity of the state,” said Warring.
