Kicking glory at the international level yet again, Chandigarh University student and 17-year-old wrestler Savita Dalal has made the entire nation proud by winning a Gold Medal in the U-17 World Wrestling Championship 2023 that is being held in Istanbul, Turkey from July 31 to August 6.

Indian teen wrestler Savita Dalal – who is a student of Bachelor of Physical Education (BPE) at Chandigarh University, Gharuan – clinched a Gold in 61kg event against Japan’s Konami ONO with a score of 8-6, becoming the only female athlete from India to win a Gold Medal in the World Championship.

Maintaining an aggression throughout the matches, she brought down her opponent Haylie Emma JAFFEE of USA in the semi-finals to win the bout with an impressive score of 10-0.
