Chandigarh, July 17

In view of incessant rains and floods, the Punjab Government has declared holidays in flood-affected schools in three districts of Punjab

It is to be mentioned that several schools of Sangrur, Sultanpur Lodhi, and Fazilka are severely affected by floods in the state.

Sultanpur Lodhi

16 Schools of flood-affected villages of Block Sultanpur Lodhi of District Kapurthala till 22 July 2023.

Among them, Government Primary School Channanwindi, Government Primary School and Government Senior Secondary School Sheikhmanga, Government Primary School Takia, Government Primary School and Government Senior Secondary School Watanwali, Government Primary School Bhorwana, Government Primary School Sherpur Sadha, Government Primary School Bhago Arayan, Government Primary School Mand Inderpur and Government Senior Secondary School Inderpur, Government Primary School Sarupwal, Government Primary School and Government Senior Secondary School Shahwala, Government Primary School and Government Senior Secondary School Jabbowal are included.

Apart from this, all other schools of the district will open as usual from July 17.

Fazilka

Fazilka District Magistrate Dr. Senu Duggal has ordered the closure of 9 government schools in flood affected areas of Fazilka district on Wednesday (till 19 July 2023) using the powers under the Faujdari Jabata Sanghata. According to the orders issued by District Magistrate Dr. Senu Duggal, these schools fall under Fazilka Block 2 and Guruharshay Block 3.

The schools which will have holidays on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday (from July 17 to 19) include Government Senior Secondary School Jhangar Bhaini, Government Primary School Gulaba Bhaini, Government Primary School Dhani Sadda Singh, Government Primary School Dona Nanka, Government Primary School Teja Ruhela, Govt Primary School Gatti No 1, Govt Primary School Muhar Jamser, Govt Primary School Dhani Natha Singh and Govt Primary School Attu Wala.
