300 flood victims evacuated from flood marooned villages falling in Mand areas of Sultanpur Lodhi

Army Jawans,NDRF and Punjab police jawans evacuated 300 flood victims from flood marooned villages in the Mand areas of Sultanpur Lodhi so far .
This was disclosed by Deputy commissioner Capt Karnail Singh after visiting the flood affected villages of the mand areas .
DC claimed that there was no loss of life in the Distrct .
Taking stock of the work being done to strengthen the embankment of Bandh on Kali Bein near Sarupwal village , Deputy Commissioner said that as soon as the information about water seepage under the Bandh near Sarupwal received, the drainage department with the support of the local villagers strengthen the bund with sand bags .He appealed people not to believe in rumors and if any person spreads rumours, he/she would be dealt strictly.

Talking to the people while visiting the villages Takia, Darewal, Bharowana etc., Deputy Commissioner said that as per the information revived , excess water is not being released in the Beas and Sutlej rivers in next few days , would enable the administration to speed up the rehabilitation works .
Meanwhile Environmentalist AAP Rajya Sabha member Sant Balbir Singh Seechewal has stepped up his efforts to plug 300 feet wide breach on the bundh near village Mandala falling near village Giderpindi .More than one thousand Seechewal followers and villagers have joined efforts to fill the breach with sand bags .Seechewal told PTI that water in Sutlej river has started receding and it would help in plugging the breach as the work on plugging was going on war footing for more than 20 hours a day even continued till late night to save human lives and paddy crops .
Seechewal is confident to plug the breach within next few days .
