German Ambassador calls on Speaker of Punjab Legislative Assembly

Chandigarh, July 7

German Ambassador to India Phillip Ackermann today called on Punjab Vidhan Sabha Speaker Kultar Singh Sandhwan.

During the meeting at the Punjab Vidhan Sabha, while both the leaders emphasized on strengthening mutual cooperation between both the countries, S. Sandhwan stressed upon issues related to the Sikhs living in Germany. He asked for strengthening the cooperation between India and Germany in various fields, adding that both countries can benefit from mutual exchange in various fields.

Sandhwan also asked Philip Ackermann to start direct flights from German to Punjab besides encouraging German companies to invest in the state of Punjab.

Meanwhile, Ackermann said that Germany is willing to further develop strong bilateral cooperation with India, which will further boost the relationship between the two nations.

 Prominent amongst others who were present in the meeting included Peter Stengler, Finance Secretary Gurpreet Kaur Sapra, Secretary Vidhan Sabha Ram Lok Khatana.
