Seechewal vows to develop Sultanpur Lodhi the holy city as religious tourism destination

With an aim to develop Sultanpur Lodhi holy city as a religious tourism destination, MP Baba Balbir Singh Seechewal vows to work with zeal to tab the potential of tourism at the religious land of first Sikh Guru Shri Guru Nanak Dev ji.

Reviewing the development works at Sultanpur lodhi and village Dalla, which is adopted by the MP Baba Balbir Singh Seechewal, and Deputy Commissioner Captain Karnail Singh and SSP Rajpal Singh Sandhu on Monday decided that regular review will be made to ensure the pace of development works and quality control.

MP asked the officials to boost the work to ensure that the holy Kali Bein should be declared pollution before the upcoming birth anniversary of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji.

MP Baba Balbir Singh said that the official must work with dedication to develop the holy city as a tourist destination of national level as it has the potential to attract the lakhs of devotees from across the globe.

He also asked to speed up the work on STP at village Jabowal road, as it was decided that its work would be completed by August 2023.

Meanwhile, the Deputy Commissioner asked the officials of the Sewerage Board to submit a detailed progress report on this project besides making weekly reports in this regard.

MP has also asked the police officials to enhance the vigil around historic places besides installing CCTVs to keep an hawk eye on the anti social elements.

SSP said that 250 CCTVs to be installed in the city, for which the work is in advance stage. These CCTVs to be linked with the ICCC which will not only ensure the security of people besides facilitating the administration to organise big religious programs in the city.

MP has also asked for special attention towards civil hospital at Sultanpur Lodhi. Deputy Commissioner apprised the MP that the administration has already raised the issued with Health Department at head quarter level to run the ICU and other modern health facilities for the people.

Meanwhile, the Deputy Commissioner also listened the grievances of villagers and issued directions to concerned officials to resolve the issues at the earliest besides chalking out plans to facilitate people .

Earlier, a detailed discussion with villagers and officials was held regarding the demands of residents of Dalla village including sports stadium, new building for veterinary hospital, installation of solar lights and renovation of Dharamshalas.

On this occasion, Deputy Commissioner Captain Karnail Singh said that the district administration would leave no stone unturned to ensure the overall development of this historically important village besides tapping its potential of religious tourism as the village has prominent place in the Sikh history.

AAP leader Sajjan Singh Cheema has also took part in the discussion and shared his valuable views in the meeting.

Prominent amongst present on the occasion included SDM Chandrajyoti , DSP Babandeep singh , DDPO Harjinder singh, SMO Dr. Mohanpreet singh and officials from various departments.
