Punjab: Excise Dept registers increase in tax collection

Chandigarh, July 2

Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann-led Punjab has registered an increase in the tax collection.

As per the information, GST collection increased by 20% till June 2023 of the current year as compared to June last year *

Similarly, there has been 56% increase in excise tax collection

The government has recovered Rs 5053.62 crore in June 2023 as against GST collection of 4050.62 crores in June 2022. Similarly, the government has collected Rs 2362.53 crores in June 2023 as against excise tax collection of 1517.85 crores in June 2022
