The recent increase in wages of teachers is a historic decision of the Punjab government, for which Advocate Rajneesh Dahiya, MLA from Ferozepur Rural Constituency, thanked Chief Minister, Bhagwant Singh Man.
MLA Rajneesh Dahiya said that before the elections, the leaders of Aam Aadmi Party had promised that temporary and contract teachers would be confirmed and their salaries would be increased substantially. He said that the Chief Minister of Punjab Bhagwant Maan has made big announcements in the interest of teachers by going live today. He has said that temporary teachers whose service has been completed for about ten years will be confirmed and notification in this regard will be issued after the holidays.
He said, there has been a huge increase in the salaries of temporary teachers by the Chief Minister. CM has announced that 6335 education volunteers who used to get Rs 3500 per month salary, will now be given Rs 15000 per month. Similarly in other categories, there is substantial increase in wages from Rs.9500 to Rs.20,500, Rs.10500 to Rs.22,000 per month, Rs.11,000 to Rs. Rs.23,500.
MLA said, it has been announced to increase the salary of IEV volunteers from Rs 5500 to Rs 15000 per month. Apart from this, all these teachers will get all the holidays like regular teachers and women teachers will also get maternity leave. He informed that it has also been announced to increase their salary by 5 percent every year.
Dahiya congratulated the group of teachers and said that the Punjab government headed by the Chief Minister has always been striving for the interests of the people of the state and such pro-people decisions will continue to be implemented in the future as well.
