In a powerful initiative against drug abuse, students from Akal Academy Schools in Ferozepur participated in a remarkable campaign called the ‘World’s Largest Hand Impression’ campaign. This unique activity aimed to set records in both the ‘World Book of Records, UK’ and the ‘Limca Book of Records’ while symbolically taking an oath against drug abuse with approximately 1 lakh hand impressions.
The event witnessed a tremendous turnout, with a total of 1,951 students from various Akal Academy schools in the Ferozepur District participating. The breakdown of participants from each school includes 329 students from Akal Academy Ratta khera, 543 from Akal Academy Bharana, 434 from Akal Academy Behak Fattu, 330 from Akal Academy Navan quilla, and 316 from Akal Basti Vasava sigh,
To create their unique hand impressions, the children dipped their hands in vibrant acrylic colors, capturing the essence of their pledge against drug abuse. These hand impressions were then photographed and uploaded to a dedicated submission web portal managed by the esteemed Kalgidhar Trust.
Expressing her views on the campaign, Principal Gursharn Kaur of Akal Academy Ratta khera stated, “Akal Academy Schools are always eager to engage in such impactful activities. We firmly believe that if children are instilled with strong values, especially the importance of staying away from drugs, at an early age, they will not only refrain from getting involved in drug abuse themselves but also inspire others to follow suit.”
