Tarn Taran Police rescue a family of Sikh devotees from Delhi struck up on the road
Tarn Taran, June 26
A massive storm hit Tarn Taran district on the evening of 25th of June. Many trees were uprooted on the roads leading to road blocks.’ S everal cars and public were stranded on the roads. SHO of Goindwal Sahib Insprector Sukhbir Singh, received a distress call from Delhi seeking help for their relatives who had come for darshan of Gurudwaras at Khadoor sahib. The group consisted of four ladies along with children who were stranded on the Khadoor Sahab Tarn Taran Road.
Apppriciating the job of SHO and his team, SSP Gurmeet Singh Chauhan disclosed that these ladies and children were in panic and urgently required help to be rescued. SHO Goindwal Sahib rushed a police party which reached the spot and helped the family negotiate the uprooted trees and helped them to safety after walking through the rain and storm for 3 kms. The family was later shifted to Amritsar where they had booked their rooms for the night stay.
