Assistant Thanedar of Ferozepur Jail arrested, taking banned items inside jail in socks, 3 mobiles found during search

Ferozepur, June 23

Three persons have been booked on the complaint of Assistant Superintendent Jail Jasvir Singh and Sukhjinder Singh and while Assistant Thanedar Madan Lal has been arrested for taking banned items inside the jail in socks, two jail inmates have been booked for recovery of three mobiles during the search operation. However, later on, Madan Lal reported to have been released on bail.

Added here, around 250 mobiles have so far been recovered during the current year with the alert jail staff but smuggling in banned items continues to be a regular process with new modus operandis for which warrants for plugging and more intensive security at the entry points

As per the information, alleged accused Assistant Thanedar Madan Lal has been arrested with five sachets of ‘zarda’ hidden under his belt and in the socks – four packed and one loose. After this, in the search operation carried out in the jail, 3 mobiles were also recovered and under trial prisoner Sukhdev Singh along with two unidentified persons were booked. One phone of the keypad facility was recovered from the barrack while the other two were found as unclaimed.
