SAD (Sanyukt) strongly opposes amendment of Sikh Gurdwara Act 1925

Senior leader of Shiromani Akali Dal (Sanyukt) and former Punjab Cabinet Minister, Parminder Singh Dhindsa has alleged Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann of taking an unethical decision regarding the broadcast of Gurbani from Sachkhand Sri Harimandar Sahib and making an amendment in the Sikh Gurdwara Act 1925.

While strongly opposing this decision, Parminder Singh Dhindsa said that by taking such illogical decisions, the Mann-led AAP government is directly interfering in Sikh issues and this will not be tolerated at any cost, he added.

He said that if the Mann government does not refrain from taking such decisions, then this will certainly open doors for coming governments to interfere in Sikh issues in the future as well.

“Passing Sikh Gurdwara Amendment Bill by the Mann Government in the special session of the Vidhan Sabha is completely illegal and unconstitutional,” said S. Dhindsa.
