Punjab Assembly passes Punjab Police (Amendment) Bill, 2023, to appoint DGP of its choice

Punjab Vidhan Sabha on Tuesday passed Punjab Police (Amendment) Bill, 2023.

The bill paves way for the state government to appoint DGP thus taking the selection process out of the purview of the UPSC.
