Deputy Commissioner Kapurthala Captain Karnail Singh today instructed the district administration officials to ensure the implementation of flood protection measures in advance so that any adverse situation be dealt in a smooth manner.
Today in a meeting to review meeting of the flood protection preparations, Deputy commissioner asked the officials of Drainage and MCs to ensure the cleaning of drains in advance besides identifying the sensitive areas for floods so that all preventive steps to be taken.
Advocating the implementation of District Disaster Management plan by all concerned departments in unison, Deputy commissioner said that coordination amongst departments is the most important part of this plan which must be ensured by departments heads.
He also made it clear that no official/ employees would be leave the station without the written approval of competent authority to ensure quick response from officials in any adverse situation, if arises.
Deputy commissioner also asked the officials of health to ensure proper stock of medicines/constitution of medical teams/ ambulance services for health facilities besides arranging fodder for animals by the animal husbandry department in the district .
Prominent amongst those present in the meeting included officials of SDRF, ADC ( G) Amarpreet Kaur, ADC (D) Parmjit Kaur, SDMs Sanjeev Sharma and Lal Vishwash Bains, DRO Aditya Gupta and DDPO Harjinder Singh.
