Aam Aadmi Party also appealed to people to leave illegal encroachment of Panchayati lands

The Aam Aadmi Party has praised Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann’s decision to give an ultimatum to the encroachers to vacate the land by May 31 to free the government property from the land mafias. The party said that for the progress and development of Punjab, people should leave the illegal occupation.

Addressing the media during a press conference at the party headquarters on Friday, the Aam Aadmi Party Punjab Chief Spokesperson Malvinder Singh Kang said that the capital and resources of Punjab were being misused by the people in power during the previous governments to fulfill their personal interests. On the other hand, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann aims to use the resources of Punjab for the welfare of the people of Punjab.

Kang said that the state government is committed to free the land from illegal encroachments. During the previous SAD-BJP and Congress governments, influential people violated the rules and encroached on expensive government lands, causing huge economic losses to the state. Now, in order to bring Punjab back on track and to improve its economic condition, the Mann Government has started a campaign to free this land and use the income from it in the interest of the state.

Kang appealed to the people that the agenda of Punjab should be development-oriented and positive. Therefore, now it is also the responsibility of the people that for the development and progress of Punjab, people should rise above greed and leave illegal encroachment on government lands and return them back to the Punjab government.

He said that no one will be spared in this campaign of the government, no matter how influential they may be. He also made it clear that no action will be taken against the poor and needy people who have built houses on panchayat or government lands and the land will not be taken back from them.
