Wolverine’s sighting at beach leaves wildlife experts surprised

The wildlife experts in the US have been surprised and mesmerized by the rare sighting of an elusive wolverine. As per the reports, these furry mammals look like small bears and lives in mountains in remote areas, where there is no human activity.

CNN reports that this rare animal sighting was captured by photographer Jennifer Henry at Washington state’s Long Beach Peninsula. It’s sighting on a beach is so rare that when Jennifer first told about her click to a wildlife official, he did not believe her.

She reportedly said, “asked, ‘Is it common to see wolverines here on the peninsula?’ and he was like ‘You didn’t see a wolverine.”

Eventually, she showed the picture to him as proof. She reportedly saw wolverine at a beach while driving her bicycle to her home.

“I get up to it, and I was like, ‘Oh, there is something moving over there,’ and all of a sudden this head pops up and I was like, ‘Oh, hi there, aren’t you different,'” she said.

She clicked a picture of it and showed it to her husband. She did not know prior to this incident that wolverines existed.

Her sighting of the wolverine at a beach has been approved by Jeff Lewis, a mesocarnivore conservation biologist at the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife. He reportedly said, “This is way beyond the path of the wolverines. It is not near the habitat they usually at.”

As per the reports, the Center for Biological Diversity says that there are only 300 wolverines living in the US. out of these, only 20 lives in Washington.
