Water Development Board to close Sirhind canal from April 11 to 22

The Ludhiana Drainage Board is constructing an escape regulator at Sirhind Canal Tower 145700 / right, on which Sirhind canal will be connected from April 11 to April 22, 2021 to connect connectivity to civil portion the canal will be closed. Disclosing this here today  Ramanpreet Singh Mann, Executive Engineer, Bathinda Canal Division said that the closure of Sirhind Canal was earlier scheduled to be done from April 4, 2021, to April 19, 2021 to connect the connectivity portion with the civil portion which has now been postponed from April 11 to April 22. The closure of Bathinda branch is likely to last from April 11 to April 24, 2021. Apart from this, he said that Rajwaha / Minor would also be cleaned before sowing of kharif crop. Informing the general public, landlords and concerned departments, he said that the reservoirs of water tanks of waterworks of villages/cities falling under Bathinda branch should be replenished so that there would be no problem of drinking water during captivity.
