Chandigarh, November 19
Vinay Pratap Singh, a 2011-batch IAS officer of the Haryana cadre, today took over as the new Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Chandigarh. “As Deputy Commissioner, my priorities will be to ease delivery of public services by re-engineering the internal processes of the Administration and improving government-citizen interface by induction of appropriate technologies, including IT, mobile communications, GIS and blockchain,” said Singh after assuming the charge.
“My endeavour will be to ensure services with prescribed timelines as a matter of right to service,” he said, adding that he would also like to involve civil society, student bodies and public representatives with the Administration to incorporate new ideas and feedback to further improve public amenities. In the course of time, he said he would like to identify important issues and the priorities of the Administration and focus on these.
“The digitisation work started in the Estate Office will be completed and expanded to other departments,” he said. Consequent upon his joining as the DC, Singh was also given the charge of District Magistrate, Estate Officer, Labour Commissioner, President, Zila Sainik Welfare Board, Controller, Civil Defence, Secretary, Agriculture Marketing Board, Director, Agriculture, Additional Chief Electoral Officer, Chairman, Wakf Board, Commissioner, Excise and Taxation, and Registrar, Cooperative Societies.
