A shocking video has come from Mumbai’s Sion Hospital where coronavirus patients can be seen lying next to dead bodies wrapped in body bags. As per the reports, Sion hospital is run by municipal corporation and is one of the major hospitals looking after COVID-19 patients in Mumbai.

In video, around seven dead bodies can be seen and the patients were being treated on adjoining beds. Also, some patients’ family members were also there to see them. But it looked like they were habitual of the sight of dead bodies.

BJP MLA from Maharashtra, Nitesh Rane took to Twitter and shared the video.

He wrote, “In Sion hospital..patients r sleeping next to dead bodies!!! This is the extreme..what kind of administration is this!

However, Sion Hospital dean Pramod Ingale reportedly said relatives of those died of COVID-19 were reluctant to take the bodies. That was why, the bodies were left unattended, he told PTI.

Further, he said, “There are 15 slots in the hospital mortuary, of which 11 are filled. If we shift all the bodies to mortuary, it will be a problem for bodies of those died of causes other than coronavirus.”

It is to be noted that with more than 16,000 people, the number of coronavirus patients is highest in India. In Mumbai only, there are more than 10,000 positive patients and more than 400 have died.
