Vaccine registrations for those above 18 to start from April 24, CoWin process remains same

A new phase of the immunization program is set to begin on May 1 following the government’s new decision on immunization. Under this, people above 18 years of age will be vaccinated. According to the latest information, citizens who want to be vaccinated at this stage can register on the Cowin app from Saturday. Vaccines are currently being given to people over the age of 45 in the country. On Monday, the central government announced a new phase of vaccination. From May 1, people over the age of 18 were allowed to be vaccinated. Significantly, amid growing cases of the coronavirus, the demand for vaccinations among young people has increased. According to National Health Authority CEO RS Sharma on Thursday said that registration of vaccines for people above the age of 18 will start in 48 hours. He said that in addition to Kovoxin and Kovishield, the option of Russian vaccine Sputnik 5 would also be available at some centers. He said that more centers and private places were being set up to expedite the vaccination process. Sharma said private firms have been asked to publish vaccination schedules on the Covin app.
