Vaccination touches up to 1.5 lakh in Kapurthala

Covid vaccinations in Kapurthala district have reached around 1.5 lakh as till 30 May, 1,449,50 people have been vaccinated in the entire district.

Deputy Commissioner Deepti Uppal said vaccination was being carried out at 28 permanent vaccination centers set up in the district. In addition to the second dose administrators, people aged 18 to 44 years with serious illnesses and construction workers are now being vaccinated.

He said that special camps were being organized by the teams of health department in different villages for vaccination.

Out of the total vaccinations, the highest number of senior citizens 77,418 have been vaccinated.

In addition, 22,358 people in the age group of 45 to 60 years have been vaccinated. As many as 13,596 people in the age group of 18 to 44 years have been vaccinated. Besides, 3823 construction workers in the age group of 18 to 44 years also got vaccination shot.

District Immunization Officer Dr. Randeep Singh said that so far no one has faced any problem in the district after vaccination.
