Three gets 10 years’ jail in NDPS case

To completely crush the drug menace, Haryana Police have not only constantly making crackdown on drug mafias but also securing conviction of offenders booked under NDPS Act through effective parivi and presentation of evidence before the concerned courts. As a result, the Court of Additional District and Session Judge, Fatehabad today sentenced three persons to 10 years of imprisonment in a NDPS case. The court also imposed a fine of Rs one lakh on each convict.  They would also have to undergo additional imprisonment in case of non-payment of fine. Giving this information here today, a spokesperson of Haryana Police said that the three accused were arrested by a police team on July 7, 2018 on Uklana road in village Saniana, Fatehabad after 240 kilograms of kachra doda post (poppy straw) was recovered from a canter in their possession. The Court, after going through all the evidences, convicted accused Sunder, Ramesh Kumar and and Dharampal after holding them guilty under NDPS Act and sentenced each convict 10 years’ imprisonment with a fine of Rs one lakh each. 115 gm heroin recovered In a similar crackdown, police have also arrested a person identified as Happy Singh from Fatehabad district after 115 gram of heroin was recovered from him. Rs 13000 earned by selling heroin was also recovered. A case was registered against the accused and further investigation is underway.
