The Punjab Government is providing free health services up to Rs. 5 lakh per annum to the needy families under the Lifelong India Comprehensive Health Insurance Scheme. This facility of the government is proving to be a great help to the people in case of any illness or emergency. Many precious lives have been saved due to timely treatment under this health insurance scheme.
Under the leadership of Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Ishfaq, the district administration of Gurdaspur has launched a special campaign to issue health insurance cards to all the beneficiaries of the health insurance scheme. While district camps are being organized by the district administration for making cards, special camps have also been organized in the market committees of the district. These camps will continue till February 28. While the Health Department is treating the needy under the Comprehensive Health Insurance Scheme, it is also playing an important role in issuing the cards of this scheme. District Nodal Officer of Sarbat Health Insurance Scheme Dr. Romi said yesterday that the Health Department had received information that a mentally disturbed person and another person who was in bed due to illness and needed treatment and were about to get a health insurance plan card. . Upon receiving the information, the teams of the health department visited their homes and issued their health insurance card cards. He said that with the help of these cards the treatment of these persons would now be free. Dr. Romi said the Sarbatt Sehat Bima Yojana cards are very useful and are made up of beneficiaries of cheaper foodgrains schemes, small traders registered with the Excise Department, farmers holding farms, laborers registered with construction boards and journalists holding yellow cards and accreditation cards. . He said that those who have not got the health insurance card from the above categories must get their cards by February 28.
