Shukarpura and Sundar Nagar areas in Gurdaspur declared as containment zone

Gurdaspur, June 10

District Magistrate Mohammad Ishfaq has declared the areas of Shukarpura and Sundar Nagar, Batala as cantonment zones to protect them from the coronavirus, curfew orders have been issued and orders have been issued to withdraw all concessions made here during the lockdown.

The orders said that the report of 6 persons of coronavirus in Shukarpura mohalla of Batala Corporation and 3 persons of Sundar Nagar mohalla has come positive. These orders were necessary for the purpose of preventing Covid-19 from spreading further in the district and in the interest of public life, safety and public property. Therefore, in order to prevent the spread of Covid-19, individuals in the area should be identified and kept at home.

In view of the above, the District Magistrate has ordered to declare the area near Mohalla Shukarpura and Sundar Nagar as a containment zone under Section 144 of the CRPC. Curfew orders have been issued in the area. Orders have been issued to withdraw the relief given during the lockdown and strict adherence to the guidelines issued on home privacy in the area.

In the orders. Balwinder Singh has been posted as Sub Divisional Magistrate Batala and Nodal Officer of Cantonment Zone. They may depute Sector Magistrates to implement cantonment zones in the villages. This order will remain in force until further orders.
