Shimla girl selected as IAF Flying Officer

Shimla’s daughter Prerna Gupta has made a name for herself in the Indian Air Force by becoming a flying officer. Prerna Gupta recently met Air Chief Marshal R. S. A flying officer with 161 officers has been posted at the Dundigal Air Force Training Center near Hyderabad under the chairmanship of Bhadauria at a passing out parade.

Prerna was selected for the Indian Air Force last year after passing the Air Force Joint Entrance Test (AFCAT) and Service Selection Board (SSB) exams in the first attempt. And completed his training at the Academy on 19 June 2021.

Prerna Gupta said that after completing her schooling from Loreto Convent School, Shimla, she went on to graduate from Delhi University and post-graduate in Psychology from Annamalai University. Prerna’s father has retired from the post of Naib Tehsildar in the state revenue department and her mother is a Central Government employee. Prerna attributes her success to her hard work, dedication and support from her parents, teachers, friends and especially her brother. Prerna’s brother is a software engineer in a multinational company.
