Security beefed up in Mohali in view of festivals

In view of the ongoing festival season, Mohali Police has beefed up security at various vulnerable points as the district is charged up with festive mood.

 Divulging the details about security arrangements, Senior Superintendent of Police (Mohali) Navjot Singh Mahal said that the Mohali Police has intensified patrolling and picketing in several areas to ensure safety and security of people, especially women as part of preventive measures. The department has also taken special measures to intensify patrolling, especially on the routes leading to religious places and markets.

Mahal further informed that patrolling has been intensified while Police personnel have been deployed at places frequented by devotees. The police have also claimed that apart from the massive deployment, personnel in plain clothes have been deployed so that they can keep an eye on suspicious activities.

SSP disclosed that Armed Reserve Police Personnel have also been deployed in various police stations of the district to further strengthen the Nakas and other deployment spots. He said that extra police personnel have been sanctioned for the festival season to imbibe the sense of security among the people. He also informed that foot patrolling has also been intensified apart from Patrolling Vans.

Meanwhile the Deputy Commissioner Ms. Isha Kalia and SSP Navjot Singh Mahal also extended warm wishes to people for festivals and urged them to stay safe and healthy.
