The Punjab Government under the leadership of Chief Minister Capt. Amarinder Singh was fully committed to provide all the necessary facilities to the poor and needy families so that no one was deprived of basic amenities. These words were uttered by the Punjab Minister for School Education and Public Works Mr. Vijay Inder Singla while distributing sanction letters of Rs. 1.5 lakh for the construction of houses under Punjab Urban Housing Scheme to 87 needy families of Sangrur city today. .
Mr. Vijay Inder Singla said that due to the far sightedness of the Punjab Chief Minister Capt. Amarinder Singh every poor and needy person was getting the benefit of the welfare schemes of the Congress government in a transparent manner which was well known to all. He said that no stone would be left unturned in providing better facilities to the people of Sangrur constituency.
He said that Punjab Urban Housing Scheme was to be provided to the needy families by the state government at the rate of Rs. 1.5 lakh per family, under which Rs. He said that Rs.50,000 would be provided as second installment at the time of installation of lantern, Rs.20,000 for completion of house after lantern and another Rs.30,000 on completion of house. He said that out of these 87 families most of the beneficiaries belonged to Ramnagar Basti, Haripura Basti, Ajit Nagar Basti, Ubhawal Road and Sohian Road.
Prominent amongst others who were present on the occasion included Deputy Commissioner Ramvir, Chairman Market Committee Anil Ghicha, Chairman Improvement Trust Naresh Gaba, Director Infotech Punjab Satish Kansal, Acting Officer Municipal Council Sangrur Ramesh Kumar, Balbir Kaur Saini, Senior Congress Leader Jaspal Sharma Pali and other leaders.
