On behalf of the health department, samples of mustard oil and food items were collected under the leadership of Civil Surgeon Dr. Tejwant Singh Dhillon. District Health Officer Usha Goyal said that 11 samples of mustard oil from Rama Mandi and Sangat Mandi and four samples were collected in the canteen of Civil Hospital Bathinda and Max Hospital Bathinda. He instructed that mustard oil should be fortified. It will also be necessary to get its license.
He instructed that food items should not be sold in the open. He appealed to the chemist association that whichever firm maintains food supplements, a food safety license is required for them. He appealed to the people of fruits and vegetables that keeping in mind the summer season, no food item should be cut.
