In a joint operation launched by the Barnala police and Agriculture Department, to curb the supply of artificial seeds and provide quality seeds to the farmers, seed stores were raided in various parts of the district.
Disclosing this here today SSP Barnala, Sandeep Goyal, said that seed sellers, selling fake seeds to the farmers, will not be tolerated. Stringent actions would be taken against them.
For the raid, the Agriculture Department had constituted three teams for Shahina, Barnala and Mahil Kalan blocks for the protection of which Baljit Singh DSP (Crime against Women and Children) Barnala, Pragya Jain (ASP) Mahil Kalan and Ravinder Singh Randhawa, DSP Tapa, and a heavy police force was deployed.
