Robbery of Rs 97,000 from shop in Ludhiana, 4 held by CCTV footage

The thieves who entered by breaking the locks of a cloth shop in village Sunet stole cash worth Rs 97,000 lying inside. But the act of both was captured by the CCTV cameras installed in the shop. Based on which the Sarabha Nagar police station arrested both of them. A case was registered against him and presented in the court on Monday. From where strict interrogation is being done after obtaining two days remand.

ASI Chanan Singh said that they were identified as Rahul Rai, a resident of Madhuban Enclave, Barewal and Sheetla Prasad, a resident of Gali No. 2 of Panchsheel Vihar, Barewal Road.

The police registered a case against him on the complaint of Vishal Gupta, a resident of Madhuban Enclave of Barewal. In his statement, he told that he has a cloth shop by the name of The Bespak House in village Sunet. After taking leave on the night of 6 September, he went to his house after locking the shop. When he came the next morning and checked, both the locks were broken. Cash worth Rs 97 thousand lying in the galley inside was stolen.
