Republic of Liberland President inaugurates DBU Electric Vehicle Lab

The Department of Mechanical Engineering, Faculty of engineering and computing of Desh Bhagat University (DBU), Mandi Gobindgarh Punjab proudly inaugurated its new Electric Vehicle Lab, aimed at fostering innovation and research in electric vehicle technology. The ceremony was presided over by H.E. VIT JEDLICKA, President of the Republic of Liberland, Dr. Zora Singh Chancellor and Dr Tajinder Kaur Pro-Chancellor Desh Bhagat University.

The inauguration began with a warm welcome by Dr. Harsh Sadawarti Vice President and Head of the Department Mechanical engineering Dr. Arashdeep Singh, who emphasized the growing importance of electric vehicles in combating climate change and reducing dependence on fossil fuels. The ceremony was attended by faculty members, highlighting the collaborative spirit of the initiative.

Dr. Arashdeep Singh brief that underscoring the transformative potential of electric vehicles. He discussed the lab’s objectives, which include fostering innovation in electric vehicle design and technology. Providing students with practical experience in electric vehicle systems, from battery technology to electric drivetrains. Partnering with local industries to enhance practical applications and commercial viability.

Dr. Arshdeep Singh emphasized the importance of interdisciplinary collaboration, encouraging students from various engineering disciplines to engage with electric vehicle projects. The lab is expected to host workshops, guest lectures, and collaborative projects with industry partners, further enriching the learning experience for students.

The inauguration of the Electric Vehicle Lab marks a significant milestone for the Department of Mechanical Engineering.
