Former Punjab Bureaucrat suggests to create 5 Lok Sabha seats for NRIs

Former Punjab Bureaucrat and ex-Special CS Punjab KBS Sidhu has appealed to PM Modi to create 5 Lok Sabha seats for NRIs.

Having recently seen the overwhelming love and affection, spontaneously expressed by the Indian community abroad for the Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, I strongly feel that we should create 5 Lok Sabha seats for each of the five continents.

NRIs/ OCIs/ POI should constitute the “electoral college”. The Constitution can be amended, if need be.

The active participation of our “Parvasi Bharti” brethren in our democracy is a condition precedent for India’s “Vishwaguru” or “Vishwa Maitri” role in the Comity of Nations:
