Punjab: Protests will continue in Amritsar, farmers vacate 26 railway tracks

The Kisan-Mazdoor Sangharsh Committee, in view of the scarcity of coal and fertilizer in Punjab, has postponed the dharna on the railway track towards Ferozepur Basti Tankawali for a few days. While the dharna of Kisan-Mazdoor Sangharsh Committee will continue on Amritsar Devidaspura railway track. The agitating farmers have also decided not to leave the petrol pumps, malls and toll plazas of a corporate house. On the other hand, Rajesh Agrawal, Railway Division Manager, Railway Division, Ferozepur, said that the farmers have cleared the railway tracks at 26 places in the state.
Satnam Singh Pannu, Inderjit Singh, Ranbir Singh and Sarwan Singh, heads of the Kisan Mazdoor Sangharsh Committee, said that their committee would meet on October 28 and announce the next outline of the movement. The dharna on Ferozepur railway track has been lifted.
Sarwan Singh said that on October 23 in Amritsar, Tarn Taran, Jira, Guruharsahai, Fazilka, Sultanpur Lodhi, Lohian, Hoshiarpur and Tanda large statues of Central Government and corporate houses will be made and cremated. Besides, effigies of Central Government and corporate houses will be blown up in 800 villages of the state on October 25, the day of Dussehra.
Satnam Singh said that in view of the scarcity of coal and urea fertilizer in Punjab, the dharna on Ferozepur railway track has been lifted for a few days, after which the dharna will be staged again. Railways are allowed to run freight trains. There is a shortage of many items in the market, which is bothering the general public.
