The hospitality and tourism sectors have been hit hard because of the Coronavirus lockdown. Therefore, the Punjab Hotel, Restaurants and Resorts Association has written a letter to the Prime Minister’s Office to seek help for mitigating the financial losses.
As per the reports, Punjab Hotel, Restaurants and Resorts Association President Satish Arora said that the hospitality industry in Punjab had never been hit so hard.
Further, Arora claimed that around 5,000 small, medium and large restaurants and hotels have suffered losses of around Rs 1,000 crore because of the lockdown. It includes the restaurants and hotels of national and international chains.
He said that the association had asked Prime Minister to take appropriate steps to help the hospitality sector. The association also demanded to defer in payment of electricity bills, water bills, and sanitation charges for six months. They also demanded to defer in license fees and property tax.
