Punjab Govt launches website for NRI cases

The Punjab Government has launched a website to deal with the family, property and other issues of Punjabis living abroad. The Punjab State NRI Commission website www.nricommissionpunjab.com was www.nricommissionpunjab.com today by Punjab NRIs, Sports and Youth Services Minister Rana Gurmeet Singh during a brief function at the Commission’s office at Mini Secretariat.
Rana Sodhi said that immigration of Punjabis living abroad, nationality, marriage, disputes between parents over children, care of spouses, distribution of marital property, adoption of children outside the country, heirs, illegal immigration, The Punjab State NRI Commission was set up in 2011 to look into issues related to poor employment conditions, the tenancy of Indian property, surrogacy and other issues but the exchange of documents and information required to resolve the issues of NRIs. This website has been launched to fill the gap.
The Minister for NRI Affairs said that through this website www.nricommissionpunjab.com , NRIs sitting in any corner of the world would be able to register their grievances along with some important documents. He said that the complainant would have to register his complaint on the website as per the checklist related to his problem. Once the complaint is registered, the complainant will be given a unique number for further information or action in the future.
Elaborating further, the Chairman of the Commission Justice (Retd.) Shekhar Kumar Dhawan said that the complainant should be a native of the state of Punjab or the incident of complaint should be related to Punjab. He said that the complaint could be lodged in Hindi, Punjabi or English.
Justice Dhawan said that the website has given the complainant complete details of the required documents to be lodged and to be lodged with him for various types of cases. The complainant has been given step-by-step instructions for uploading his complaint and submitting the document. He said that NRIs would also be able to download a copy of the decision on any issue from the website. He said that even before this, newspapers, TV The Commission has also been constantly taking note of the plight of NRIs reported through channels, radio, etc.
Meanwhile, Rana Sodhi also handed over two rooms prepared for the members of the commission. On this occasion, NRI Additional Chief Secretary of the Department  Kirpa Shankar Saroj, ADGP (NRIs) A.S. Rai, Member of the Commission Singh (retired IAS),  H.S.  Dhillon (Retired IPS),  Gurjit Singh Lehal and  Savinder Singh Sidhu were present.
