Punjab Govt gets financial assistance to daughters: Tripat Bajwa

The Punjab government has provided Rs 21,000 to the economically weaker daughters of the state on the occasion of their marriage. During the year 2020, Rs. 39 crore has been released to 19082 daughters of the state and their financial assistance has been provided. Giving information in this regard, the Cabinet Minister said Tripat Rajinder Singh Bajwa said that the state government had provided financial assistance of Rs. 22 crore to 10873 daughters of Scheduled Castes and Rs. Provided. Bajwa said that during the year 2020 the state government had introduced new Dr. BR Ambedkar SC Post Matric Scholarship Scheme notified on October 27, 2020 which has been implemented from the academic session 2020-21. He said that this scheme would be applicable to the residents of Punjab belonging to Scheduled Castes who have matriculated from Punjab State and Chandigarh. The income limit for availing benefits under this scheme has been increased from Rs 2.50 lakh to Rs 4 lakh. He said that the scope of benefits under this scheme has been extended to the Central and State level Government Higher Education Institutions in Punjab and Chandigarh. Cabinet Minister  Bajwa said that the government was running three schemes namely Pre Matric Scholarship Scheme, Post Matric Scholarship Scheme and Merit cum Minus Based Scholarship to benefit the students belonging to the minority community. 76,14 crore to 4,68,622 students under Pre-Matric Scholarship Scheme for Minority, Rs. 30.18 crore to 56,664 students under Post-Matric Scholarship for Minority Scheme and Rs. DBT Paid via mode.
