Punjab CM Channi announces major relief on property rights & electricity bills

Punjab Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi on Monday made a major announcement among which was the relief for the people living within Red Line also known as Lal Lakir. Channi said people of villages and towns living in the land of Lal Lakir would get property rights and the people of cities would also get the benefit. He said that people living within the Lal Lakir will be given relief under Mera Ghar Mera Naam scheme under which those living within ‘Lal Lakir’ in rural areas as well as in cities will get ownership rights of the properties. He further announced that electricity arrears under 2K will be waived off for everyone. Speaking on the ongoing coal crisis, Channi assured that there will be no power cuts in Punjab. “Talks are being held with the Central government in this regard,” he added.
