Police cracks blast incident in Ferozepur

The Ferozepur police claimed to have cracked the blast incident in Ferozepur on the night of September 6 in Namak Mandi of general merchant shop and putting of fire the parked car on October 7. The accused had also detonated a tiffin bomb at Jalalabad vegetable market on September 15.

SP said, there had been a bomb blast near the general merchant shop in Namak Mandi on September 6 and put on fire the parked car in Basti Balochan. In the cases registered under Explosive Substance Act 1908, the accused Sukhwinder Singh alias Sukha of Chandi Wala and Sukeen Singh of Dharmu Wala in Jalalabad of district Fazilka were arrested and produced before the court who remanded five days police custody. Both have close relations with each other as ‘Jija-Sala’. A tiffin bomb was received from the field of Parveen Kumar and after that interrogation was carried out. Both were sent on judicial remand to Muktsar jail on September 27 and now the Ferozepur police have brought both of them for investigation.

During the investigation, the accused have admitted tiffin bomb blast on the night of September 6. The investigations are on by the security agencies also as both have links with the Pakistan terrorists with special focus on their plans executed and future plans. The possibility of recovery of more explosives cannot be ruled out, he added.

SP said, the younger brother of Sukha is already in jail for recovery of 5 kg heroin and pistol used at the time of the incident and the entire family has a criminal background.
