Petrol and diesel prices rise to new record highs on Friday after stabilizing for a day. In the country’s four largest metros, petrol has gone up by 29 paise and diesel by 30 paise today. Due to this, petrol crossed Rs 102 and diesel Rs 94 for the first time in Mumbai. In Chennai, petrol has gone above Rs 97 for the first time.
According to Indian Oil Corporation, a leading oil marketing company, petrol in the national capital has gone up by 29 paise to Rs 95.85 per liter and diesel by 28 paise to Rs 86.75 per liter. Petrol and diesel prices have been hiked for 22 days from May 4 so far, with no change in the remaining 17 days. During this period, petrol has gone up by Rs 5.45 and diesel by Rs 6.02 in Delhi.
In Mumbai, petrol price has been hiked by 28 paise and diesel by 30 paise today. With this, the price of petrol crossed Rs 102.04 per liter and diesel Rs 94.15 per liter. In Chennai, petrol became costlier by 25 paise to Rs 97.19 per liter and diesel by 27 paise to Rs 91.42 per liter. In Kolkata, prices of both fuels have gone up by 28 paise each. A liter of petrol went up to Rs 95.80 and diesel to Rs 89.60 per liter.
