Oil marketing companies on Sunday hiked petrol and diesel prices again, pushing petrol to Rs 101 for the first time in Mumbai and Rs 95 for the first time in Delhi. Petrol price has been hiked by 27 paise and diesel by 31 paise in four metros of the country. Petrol and diesel prices have been hiked for 19 days since May 4, while there has been no change in the remaining 15 days. During the period, petrol became costlier by Rs 4.63 and diesel by Rs 5.22 in Delhi.
According to Indian Oil Corporation, a major oil marketing company, petrol price in the national capital Delhi and Mumbai has gone up by 27-27 paise to Rs 95.03 per liter and Rs 101.25 per liter, respectively. Diesel has gone up by 29 paise in Delhi and 31 paise in Mumbai. The price of a liter of diesel has gone up to Rs 93.30 per liter in Mumbai and Rs 85.95 per liter in Delhi. In Kolkata, petrol became costlier by 26 paise to Rs 95.02 per liter and diesel by 29 paise to Rs 88.80 per liter. In Chennai, petrol price has been hiked by 24 paise and diesel by 28 paise. A liter of petrol was priced at Rs 96.47 and a liter of diesel at Rs 90.66.
