PEDA provides subsidy for setting up of domestic biogas plants

Deputy Commissioner  Arvind Pal Singh Sandhu said that Punjab Energy Development Agency (PEDA) was providing subsidy for setting up of domestic biogas plants to protect the environment and encourage the use of domestic natural gas. At the same time, the use of domestic and natural gas saves a large amount of money for the beneficiary with cheap biogas and also provides better fertilizer. Disclosing this here today Gurmeet Singh, District Manager, Punjab Energy Development Agency (PEDA) said that PEDA has set up biogas plants of 4 and 6 cubic meters capacity. And for 6 cubic meters there should be 8 animals. He said that with the capacity of 4 cubic meters biogas plant 10-11 persons and with the capacity of 6 cubic meters biogas plant 14-16 persons can be prepared per day. He said that for setting up of biogas plant a subsidy of Rs.12000 per plant would be given to the beneficiaries of general category and scheduled caste and if any beneficiary wanted to connect his toilet with biogas plant he would be given an additional subsidy of Rs.1600. That with biogas plant we get cheap, clean and good fertilizer and we can save our traditional energy reserves like oil, coal, wood etc. for future generations.
