The ‘Each One Bring One’ campaign launched by Education Secretary Kirsan Kumar under the leadership of Education Minister Vijay Inder Singla has received overwhelming response in Pathankot district and government schools have been able to dig into the enrollment of students in private schools. In Pathankot district during the current session 4015 students from private schools have been enrolled into the government schools so far. Government school enrollment increased by 15% during the last session and the main challenge for teachers during this session was to maintain last year’s growth, but due to the hard work of the teachers, 4015 more children have been admitted in this session as compared to the previous session.
Disclosing this here today District Education Officer (Sec) Jaswant Singh and District Education Officer (Elementary) Baldev Raj said that the level of education in government schools has become very good. Because of this, parents are removing their children from private schools and getting them admitted to government schools. He said that while Sarpanches, Panches and MCs are enrolling their children in government schools, government teachers are also enrolling their children in government schools on a large scale.
He said that to speed up the enrollment drive in government schools, school heads are also being encouraged by the education secretary Krishna Kumar by constantly visiting different schools in Pathankot and also by the district enrollment booster teams on daily basis. He said that the teachers of government schools are also promoting the new admissions through various media. Due to covid-19, the children are being admitted online in government schools by making video conferences through school conferences, making contact with the parents of the children, propagating digital methods by the teachers and making admission apps.
District Media Coordinator Balkar Attri said that the headmasters and teachers of the government schools have been broadcasting on the radio to increase the enrollment in the government schools and to spread the achievements of the government schools to the social community and every Saturday and Sunday beautiful performances are being done by the children of government schools in the program ‘Navian Paeran’ on Doordarshan. In addition, pamphlets, e-prospectuses, plays, school and district public school achievement flexes, publicity at religious places, bus stands and announcements and online video conferencing are used to reach out to the community.
